Police release CCTV of boys throwing objects onto A1

Police are appealing for information after a spate of incidents involving young people throwing objects onto the A1M from a motorway bridge.

CCTV captured two men stood on the bridge at Coxhoe over the motorway throwing various items over the bridge onto passing cars. Objects included a bag of cement and stones. This particular CCTV footage was from November 13th.

Since September of this year there have been a number of similar incidents - one of which resulted in the driver of an HGV being taken to hospital with glass in his eyes.

Police believe that it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured if those responsible are not caught.

The first man that the police are looking for are is 5 foot 10, of skinny build, around 16 years of age and wearing a grey hoody top and jeans.

The second man that the police are trying to track down is 5 foot 2, also of slim build and younger than the other male. He was also wearing a hoody top and jeans. The second male has a small whippet type dog on a lead.

Police believe that these two people may be responsible for other incidents that have happened in the area.
