Vera Baird to begin as Northumbria Police Commissioner
The former Redcar MP Vera Baird will begin her job as Northumbria's Police & Crime Commissioner this morning.
Other commissioners from across the region will also take up their posts.
Ms Baird will be holding a press conference in Gateshead later.
