Former Middlesbrough and Sunderland winger Boudewijn Zenden has joined Chelsea as Assistant Manager, according to his father and agent.
The 36-year-old, who spent time on both Teesside and Wearside during his play days, will work under Rafa Benitez after the Spaniard was named the club's interim boss until the end of the season.
The Dutchman spent two years with Boro from 2003 to 2005, and returned to the north east with the Black Cats in 2009 until his retirement in 2011.
