Sunderland boss O'Neill denies quit rumours
Martin O'Neil has dismissed reports that he resigned from his role as Sunderland manager, saying it's "absolute nonsense."
Speculation had emerged that the Black Cats boss quit the club after Saturday's 4-2 defeat by West Brom at the Stadium of Light. However, the Northern Irishman has rubbished the claims.
He said: "I don't think there's much more to say really other than the fact that anybody can get onto Twitter and say whatever they want.
"The very fact that nobody comes to verify the story does make that a bit disappointing, but that's absolute nonsense."
When asked if he was willing to fight for the job, O'Neill added: "Absolutely. I would never have thought anything else.
