Countrywide Flame wins Fighting Fifth
Malton-based horse Countrywide Flame has romped home to a famous win in the StanJames.com 'Fighting Fifth' at Newcastle Races.
John Quinn's horse - riden by jockey Denis O'Regan - came in ahead of Cinders and Ashes in second, and fellow Malton horse Bothy.
The odds on Countrywide Flame winning next year's Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham have now been reduced to 8/1.
