Spelling mistake "allowed man with history of violence to kill partner"

A spelling mistake on a police computer allowed a man with a history of domestic abuse to kill his partner, according to a report.

The police watchdog has criticised the Northumbria force for mistakes that led to the death of Sarah Gosling in Newcastle earlier this year.
