Nissan's plant on Wearside has secured more than a hundred million pounds, to become the first factory outside Japan to make its luxury model of car.
The Sunderland base will produce a hatchback for Nissan's 'Infiniti' brand, creating an extra fifty jobs and potentially hundreds more in the supply chain.
