Two charged with murder of man in South Shields

Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old man in South Shields.

David Charlton was stabbed on Friday night as he walked home with his girlfriend from the Last Orders pub in South Shields.

He was attacked on Stanhope Road in the town and taken to South Tyneside Hospital where he was declared dead.

Keith Honeyman, 19, from Alice Street, South Shields, and a 15-year-old, also from South Shields - who cannot be named for legal reasons - have been charged with murder.

Both will appear before South Tyneside Magistrates Court on December 26.

Two men, aged 24 and 31, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an

offender have been released on bail.
