Police are appealing for information after 57-year-old Ian Wanless went missing from his home address in the Bowesfield Lane area of Stockton yesterday lunchtime.

Mr Wanless has a prosthetic limb on his left leg and it is believed he left his house yesterday, travelling to the town centre by taxi.

He had a number of items with him including a wheelchair, television and inflatable dinghy.

Police know that he sold the television at a second-hand shop in Stockton town centre. It is possible that he then boarded the No. 36 bus at 1.45pm heading towards Middlesbrough.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for Mr Wanless as he is on medication that he has not taken with him.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have seen Mr Wanless or who knows where he stayed last night.

Anyone with information should contact Stockton police on the non-emergency number 101.
