Firearms recovered in bin in Sunderland
Police officers have recovered three firearms believed to have been stolen from a car in Sunderland.
Northumbria Police received reports of a rubbish bin on fire on Julius Caesar Street in Southwick just before midnight on New Year's Eve.
Officers discovered the bin contained a shotgun and two rifles, which could have been stolen from a car on Old Mill Road in Southwick on December 29th.
Two men, aged 26 and 36, have been arrested in connection with the case and police enquiries are ongoing.
