Newcastle City Council has a fight on its hands as momentum gathers to save the iconic City Hall.
The 85-year-old music venue has hosted acts including the Beatles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen - but could be closed as part of budget cuts.
A host of North East singing stars have teamed up to produce a special CD in an effort to save it - with a song written by Billy Bragg.
