A 16-year-old has appeared at Newcastle Crown Court charged with the murder of a man from County Durham.
33-year-old David Scott died in hospital in Newcastle after being found with stab wounds in the back lane of Rose Avenue in Stanley two days before Christmas.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Newcastle Crown Court today.
He has been remanded in custody and his trial has been adjourned until March.
