Tributes have been paid to a North Yorkshire Police officer who died while responding to a 999 call last night.

PC Andrew Bramma was part of a team based in Harrogate. He was killed when his patrol van hit a tree near Ripon.

A police officer has died in a road accident while answering an emergency call. The officer was killed when his patrol vehicle collided with a tree in the village of West Tanfield, near Ripon, at 7pm on Saturday, North Yorkshire Police said.
