Zola happy with performance

Competition: npower Championship

Venue: Riverside Stadium

Final score: Middlesbrough 1-2 Watford

Watford manager Gianfranco Zola says he was pleased with his side's 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

The victory meant the Hornets are now unbeaten in their last six away league games, and puts them within four points of Boro in the Championship table with a game in hand.

Speaking after the game, Zola admitted that his side were fortunate to be leading at half-time but says they were worthy winners. He said: "We didn't deserve to be 1-0 up. I think it was a present from them to be 1-0 up.

"They had their chances in the first-half and they played well, but they didn't take their chances. In the second-half we stepped up our game a little bit and that was the difference really."

He added: "It was a good performance in the end."
