On tonight's Around The House, Helen Ford discusses the recent calls for a change to the drug laws with Sir Alan Beith, the MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed and chair of the Justice Committee.
The British Medical Association wants drug addiction to be treated as a health issue rather than a crime, and an all-party group of peers has recommended that drugs including heroin and cocaine should be decriminalised.
Helen Ford asks if a more compassionate approach to drug addiction could send out the wrong message.
