Former Cleveland Police Chairman pleads 'not guilty'

A former North East police authority chairman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of perverting the course of justice.

Former chairman of Cleveland Police Authority and Redcar and Cleveland councillor Dave McLuckie will go on trial at Newcastle Crown Court on June 10th.

It was alleged that the 51-year-old persuaded a man named Maurice Ward to accept responsibility for an endorsable road traffic offence in 2005.
