WEATHER: Amber Alert for SNOW into Monday

Heavy snow is expected to affect parts of the region Sunday night into Monday. In the Amber area over 10 cm of snow is expected widely with over 20 cm in places. In addition, drifting is likely in strong to gale force easterly winds.

The public should be prepared for the risk of disruption to travel, and the likelihood of road closures, as well as possible disruption to power supplies. The snow should gradually ease from the south during the day.
