A woman from Teesside has been sentenced to death by firing squad for smuggling drugs into Indonesia. Lindsay Sandiford, from Redcar, wept as she learned her fate on the resort island of Bali.
The death sentence was handed down despite the fact that prosecutors had only asked for her to be jailed.
