Police are treating the death of a kayaker, who died after getting into difficulties in the Arkle Beck at Reeth, as an accident.
North Yorkshire Police, the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, a RAF air support unit and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were involved in the search to find the man yesterday afternoon.
The man was found in the Beck and taken by air ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
