Police have named a man who died after a canoeing accident on the Arkle Beck near Reeth as Matthew Stephen Baird-Parker.
The 36-year old, originally from the Heckmondwike area of West Yorkshire, had been canoeing with friends on Sunday when he got into difficulties on the beck near Leyburn.
He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough by air ambulance, but was then pronounced dead at the hospital.

The remaining two anti-fracking protestors who climbed a rig at a live well site in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, have been removed.
The incident near Fenrother involved a Honda Civic travelling south from Scotland and a Seat Ibiza travelling north from Morpeth.
