The Archbishop of York visited a Middlesbrough school yesterday to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
John Sentamu was visiting the Unity City Academy, on Ormesby Road, to address staff, students and the local community.
He praised the Academy for its best-ever GCSE results last year which made it the most improved school in Middlesbrough.
Forty-seven per cent of students achieved five A-C grades, nearly doubling 2011’s results, with 90 per cent achieving five A-C grades overall.
