An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death on North Tyneside in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Superintendent Jim Napier, from Northumbria Police said:
"Police enquiries at the scene are ongoing and a cordon is in place on the street.
"A murder investigation has been launched and additional police patrols are underway to aid the investigation and to reassure local residents."
