Police are appealing for information after a four-year-old girl was hit by a car in North Tyneside.
The incident happened shortly after one o'clock on the afternoon of Saturday February 16th at the eastbound carriageway of Wallsend Road in North Tyneside.
A white 4x4 vehicle was travelling towards Chirton when it hit a four-year-old girl in the road at the pedestrian crossing.
She was taken to the RVI where she is receiving treatment for a broken leg.
Police are investigating the crash and have already spoken to a number of witnesses, but they are now urging anyone who stopped at the scene and who is yet to come forward to speak to police to do so at the earliest opportunity.
