Appeal for witnesses after man dies following A19 crash

Police are re-appealing for witnesses to come forward following the death of a man injured in a crash on the A19.

The 35-year-old man from Thirsk was hit by a heavy goods vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday February 19th near to the junction for Over Silton, near Northallerton.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead later on the same day.

Police are currently not in a position to identify him.
