A convicted drug dealer from Scarborough has been ordered to repay £24,111.37 of illegal income.
50-year-old Michael Andrew Osbourne, of Oxcliff, Scarborough, was ordered to repay the sum at a York Crown Court confiscation hearing.
North Yorkshire Police’s Financial Investigation Unit established that Osbourne had £25,076.49 worth of income and expenditure over the course of six years which could not be accounted for though his legitimate income.
The court applied the assumption that the money must have been generated through criminal activity and he was ordered to pay £24,111.37.
He must pay the amount within three months. If he doesn’t he will face a prison sentence and will still be liable to pay the money.
