'Black Widow' letters under the hammer

A collection of Mary Ann Cotton's letters will be auctioned on Wednesday February 27th. Known as the 'Black Widow' was executed in March 1873 for murdering her seven year old step-son Charles after she killed him with arsenic.

Serial killer's letters sold

Letters written by the 19th century mass murderer Mary Ann Cotton, known as the 'Black Widow', have been sold in North Yorkshire.
