Full speed ahead for Teesside windfarm
Work's progressing quickly on Teesside's first multi-million pound offshore windfarm. Around a third of the twenty seven turbines are now in place off the coast of Redcar. The first huge structure was put in place only last month.
Once the site is complete, it will provide enough power for forty thousand homes. EDF Energy Renewables is hoping that the project will be finished in the Spring. The firm describes the development as 'symbolic' and says it may help to shape its future plans for windfarms in the UK.
