Region missing out on millions
The business organisation, the CBI, says the North East is missing out on millions of pounds in trade because there are too few flights connecting us with the rest of the world. It is calling more direct services, in particular to North America.
It is also calling for speedy improvements to the A1 to provide quicker access to Newcastle Airport.
