Suspended Cleveland Police Deputy suing force over sexual discrimination claims

The suspended Deputy Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Derek Bonnard is planning to take the force to an employment tribunal over claims of sexual discrimination.

Mr Bonnard has lodged papers against the force after the new Chief Constable Jaqui Cheer was appointed the top job earlier this year.

Mr Bonnard's claim comes as he attends a disciplinary hearing into seven allegations of gross misconduct.

The 50-year-old denies all the misconduct allegations against him.
