Nile Ranger arrested on suspicion of assault
Former Newcastle United player Nile Ranger has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
The 21-year-old, who left Newcastle United "by mutual consent" earlier this month, was arrested after police were called to the car park area of The Gate complex in Newcastle yesterday evening.
A statement from the police confirmed that they had received reports of a fight shortly after seven o'clock on the evening of Wednesday 13 March and a 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He is currently in police custody and helping police with their enquiries.
