Police searching for missing Pamela Jackson have had to call off the search of the river because of the bad weather.
Pamela Jackson has now been missing for two weeks.
Searches of the River Wear in Chester-le-Street were carried out over the weekend with help from the fell rescue team.
Officers are continuing ground searches for the missing County Durham woman across the Chester-le-Street area today.
"Unfortunately the river level is too high to safely continue the search, once the water recedes officers from the Northumbria police's marine unit will continue to assist us in the search for Pamela."
"I would still encourage anyone with information about Pamela's disappearance to contact police on 101."
