Appeal after teenager seriously injured in North Yorkshire crash

Police in North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a road traffic collision near Harrogate where a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured.

The crash happened at 4.25pm on Thursday 21 March outside the main gates of the Menwith Hill airbase when a coach hit the boy.

The teenager, who is originally from the Barnoldswick area of Lancashire, was taken by air ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries.

He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The road was closed for around five hours following the collision.

Anyone who can help with the police investigation is being asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Dave Willey.
