A row over the decision not to give Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson a top sports job reached Parliament today - with accusations that the decision had been a "political stitch-up."
The former Paralympic gold medalist from Redcar was overlooked for the role of Head of Sport England.
The job was instead awarded to Nick Bitel, the man who runs the London marathon.
Senior Labour MPs have suggested that she missed out on the job after her high profile criticism of disability benefit cuts.
Baroness Thompson said she was "disappointed" not to get the job, but she refused to be drawn into a political row.
The Prime Minister, however, could not avoid the subject in Parliament today.
