The oldest coast to coast passenger route in the UK is celebrating its 175th anniversary. The route linking the cities of Newcastle and Carlisle opened in the 1830s.
Celebrations have been taking place along the route, Hannah McNulty went along for the ride.

The trophy started at Hadrian's Wall before passing through Hexham and Newcastle on its way to Alnwick.
