Man charged over Jarrow cannabis farm

A man from Tyne and Wear has been charged with producing cannabis and abstracting electricity following the discovery of a cannabis farm.

Police executed a search warrant at an address on Russell Street, Jarrow, where they discovered around 15 cannabis plants.

27-year-old Dean Martin Glover, of Russell Street, was charged and will appear before South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on July 16.

"I would urge people to contact us regarding any suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhoods to allow us to take action to prevent drug use and supply.

"Residents should ensure they report anything suspicious, such as unusual activity and smells, as well as blacked out windows to police so we can investigate.

"We'll continue to work closely with the community and landlords to ensure cannabis farms, no matter what size, are dismantled."
