The Government's failure to commit to dualling the A1 between Morpeth and Berwick has been greeted with disappointment by motorists and businesses in the region.
Speaking in the Commons today, June 27, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander, announced details of road and rail improvements totalling £28 million.
Campaigners had hoped for an upgrade to the A1 in Northumberland, but it remains under review.
