More than 1500 young people from around 20 schools are being shown what the future could have in store for them at Sunderland's first Work Discovery Week event.
Around 40 top businesses from around the region are taking part in the project which runs throughout this week.
The event, at the Stadium of Light, includes a careers fair, key note speakers and a fashion show featuring the correct clothes to wear for interviews and for the work place.
The children will also take part in practical demonstrations covering everything from welding to a biology dexterity test.
