Councillors in North Tyneside are to hold a special meeting next week over concerns about a Government decision to approve a new Academy school in the borough.
It is the first time in the country that an independent school has joined with a state primary school to form a new academy.
King's School and the Priory Primary School will become a Woodard Academies school when they re-open in September.
