Cresswell re-joins York City

Striker Richard Cresswell has rejoined boyhood club York City on a permanent basis.

The 35-year-old, who spent part of last season on loan at Bootham Crescent, has signed a one-year deal with the club after leaving Sheffield United.

Cresswell began his career with the Minstermen in 1995 before moving to Sheffield Wednesday in March 1999.

In total, the forward has made 644 senior appearances and scored 142 goals for clubs including Leicester City, Preston North East, Leeds United, Stoke City and Sheffield United.
