New study to reduce lung cancer deaths
A major project has been unveiled to tackle one of the North East's biggest killers.
More than two and a half thousand people are diagnosed with lung cancer every year in this region alone. The vast majority will die as a result.
Now a charity has launched a nine year study to track the development of tumours in lung cancer patients. The aim is to tailor treatments more effectively.
