A solicitor who was found dead with stab wounds on a popular running route in Durham City was being investigated by police for alleged fraud.
Peter Maine,56, from Teesside was discovered at Maiden Castle Sports Centre on Sunday morning where he had been taking his regular morning run.
Detectives are treating the case as suspected murder but say at this stage they can't rule out suicide.
