'Horse punch' fan denies violent disorder

A football fan accused of punching a police horse has appeared in court charged with violent disorder.

Barry Rogerson, 45, was charged after trouble flared when Newcastle United lost three nil at home to Sunderland in April.

He appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this morning for a brief hearing where he denied the charge.
