A grieving mother from Sunderland hopes a nationwide television appeal will finally end a 21-year battle to find out who killed her daughter.
Nikki Allan was just seven years old when she was stabbed to death near her home in 1992.
The case will be re-examined in front of an audience of millions when it is featured tonight on BBC's Crimewatch programme.
Her mother, Sharon Henderson, said it marks the next chapter in her long fight for justice.
