For the first time, all children in Gateshead are being offered a vaccine against 'flu.
The borough is one of seven areas across the country to trial the immunisation programme. Instead of a traditional 'flu jab, children of primary school age are receiving the vaccine in a nasal spray.
More than 10,000 pupils will be offered the protection between now and December.
