We apologise to our passengers for the disruption to services today, following overhead power line problems between Grantham and Peterborough. Engineering teams from Network Rail are working to recover services as quickly as possible: we expect through services between the North East and London to resume tomorrow morning.
Our advice to customers who can defer their journey to tomorrow is to do so: all unused East Coast tickets dated for travel today can be used tomorrow.
A limited service is operating via an alternative route avoiding the affected area.
Replacement road services are also in operation between Peterborough and Newark, and passengers are also able to use alternative routes via Manchester and Leeds to travel to and from the North East.
