MPs travelling from the North East to London to get back to parliament have been stuck on trains with thousands of other passengers due to problems with cables on the east coast line.
Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah tweeted:
train 2 hrs late because of cables coming down but another signal failure means they now can't give an arrival time
Gateshead MP Ian Mearns also tweeted:
Other colleagues stuck at Retford for 4 and a half hours! Still there!
