Thousands of people joined the Bishop of Ripon and Leeds the Rt Rev John Packer as he led his final Boxing Day Pilgrimage.
Hundreds of walkers from across the city and region walked the four-mile route from Ripon to Fountains Abbey.
The Boxing Day Pilgrimage has been led by Bishop Packer for the past 14 years.
He announced today that it would be led next year by Bishop James Bell, the Bishop of Knaresborough, who will become the Area Bishop for Ripon and the new diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales.
A final farewell service for Bishop John and his wife Barbara will take place at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday January 5th at 3pm.
