Video footage of three people who were caught on CCTV throwing wheelie bins and rubbish bags into the street has been viewed over 20,000 times in one day.
The men were walking down Gillygate in York around 2:30am on Tuesday 7th January when they started chucking garbage around.
Police turned up and made the trio clear up the mess they had made.
Connie Thompson, who saw the whole thing, said she was "delighted" with the police's quick response.
This is the first time City of York Council has proactively released CCTV footage in this way.
It's hoped it will deter any other incidents of this kind. You can view the footage on our website.
