A nine year old girl has been left scarred after a bottle was thrown at the car she was travelling in.
The girl was in the front seat of the car, as it made its way along the A693 through Stanley on Friday 14th February.
A bottle was thrown from a nearby subway which shattered the car window, spraying glass onto the girl.
She was taken to hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to what they are describing as a 'mindless act.'
