Cyclist may have seen armed robber

Police say they want to hear from a cyclist who was riding along Two Ball Lonnen just after a robbery at a Nisa convenience store in Newcastle at around 5.30am on Thursday.

The robber is believed to have run across the road in front of him.

Police believe this man may have information which would help enquiries.

"Extensive enquiries continue to take place into this robbery and we're making a fresh appeal for information. We've released CCTV of the incident in ongoing efforts to trace the man in the footage and would urge anyone who recognises him or knows who he is to get in touch with police. In particular, the man was wearing a fluorescent jacket which had a missing silver panel at the back and anyone who knows the whereabouts of this jacket should also contact police. "
